Same problem here, I did the following to solve this issue:
  1. Download v3.2.1 (https://genericunitofworkandrepositories.codeplex.com/downloads/get/810749)
  2. Extract contents
  3. Copied the Source folder from the v3.2.1.zip to the parent folder where I extracted the v3.3.1.zip to
On my PC I have the following situation:
d:\Visual Studio\Projects\GUoWRF\v3.3.1 (contents of v3.3.1.zip)
d:\Visual Studio\Projects\GUoWRF\Source (Source folder from v3.2.1.zip)

Reopen the Northwind.sln and it should work :)

[Edit]
I also had to update my System.Web.Http from 4.0.0.0 to 5.0.0.0

[Edit2]
Now it is complaining about "Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Http, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)" :(

Apologize, we didn't package the download correctly, we've re-uploaded a new zip for the download, please try again.

The correct solution to open should be /Sample/Northwind.sln
